The Total Soil Management® Program

"TSM®" does what all other soil fertility recommendations programs do and much more. Budgeting is just one example of the unique services TSM® provides.

                 See Fertilizer Budgets

We use a four-phase soil fertility system:
  • Phase One:
          Achieving Soil Fertility Balance

We want to establish an ideal soil fertility
environment so that all essential nutrients
are available to the plant in sufficient amounts
and in proper balance to produce maximum
    economic yield (MEY).

          See Nutrient Cycles
                 Nutrient Relationships

We will increase the efficiency of the fertilizer
you apply. While some people and/or companies
talk about fertilizer efficiency, we will show you
on your own farm. We make it possible for you
to keep on top of your soil fertility, always knowing where your soil fertility is and why.

          See Fertilizer Efficiency
                 Fertilizer Index-Pounds to Balance
                 Balance Charts

  • Phase Two:
Adapting Soil Fertility to the Crop

We adapt the soil fertility environment to suit the specific crop being grown. The question is, can you move or change soil fertility levels in one direction one year to meet the specific needs of one crop, then move the soil fertility levels in a different direction the next year to meet the specific needs of another crop? We say that you can and we have been doing it for many years.

  • Phase Three:
         Increasing Yield Beyond Average

This phase takes yields beyond what is normally expected. We know that certain crops require higher amounts of some micronutrients than other crops. By applying a product that TSM® has developed called TSM® Micro-Boost, you can satisfy the current crop's appetite for a particular nutrient, without having to raise the soil test level of that nutrient for just the one crop, thereby saving money and reaching your goal.

          See Micronutrients
                 TSM® Micro-Boost

  • Phase Four:
              Increasing Quality

We are talking about the quality of the grain,
fruit, vegetable, forage, turf, etc., as well as
the quality of the entire plant, including
the roots. Is it possible to influence:
    • weight per bushel
    • feeding value
    • moisture level at harvest
    • milling qualities
    • standability
    • specific qualities demanded
      by specialty markets

We say YES and we will show you how.
